Basics
Name: Will Elwell
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Nationality/Hometown/State: American, San Fransisco, California
Height: 5'9”
Weight: 120
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Green
Skin Color: Pale White
Character Depth
Appearance: Will is typically seen without the company of others, often buried deep within his own writing. Rich brown hair that reaches his shoulders is usually in disarray, falling gently into his tired face. His eyes are a startling shade of green, usually with dark circles under them, greatly contrasted against his pale skin. Will enjoys to dress comfortably in simple jeans and plain t-shirts with the occassional sweater.
Personality: Will has always been a bit withdrawn from the world. Being the youngest of four brothers drove him completely out of the spotlight and into the dull shadow of mediocrity. He has a kind heart and a desire to help those in need, he just lacks the physical ability (or perhaps just the confidence) to do so. Will is still sheltered from many of the 'harsher' realities of life, remaining ignorantly innocent to much of the corruption that occurs everyday.
Quirks/Phobias/Oddities: He is fearful of his lack of ability to do anything well and it drives him further away from those around him. He is deathly afraid of disappointing those he loves, which has caused him to keep most people at a distance.
Skills and Talents: None.
Family/Past relationships: Will's childhood was filled with his brothers' accomplishments: Dylan being the star quarterback on his high school team, Todd who graduated high school and began attending Stanford at the age of 15, and Randy who had already been in four blockbuster movies and was going to star in his own television show next fall. Will's parents never pushed him to be like his older brothers, only guided him towards the piano in hopes of another amazing prodigy. Unfortunately Will didn't take too well to the piano and only seemed to grasp the basics. A relative disappointment for the entire family, Will slowly drifted into the background of his own life. He lost any sort of confidence he had before age 10, realizing that he just wasn't truly good at anything.
Misc. Traits and Trivia: While Will would never admit it, his poetry is rather eloquent and would most likely be well received if he ever let anyone read it.
History: Will was born and raised in San Fransisco, California, where he currently resides. A typical childhood, overshadowed by his overachieving brothers, left him struggling to even be an acceptable son. His power began manfesting himself when he reached the fourth grade, and as a result, all his classmates suddenly seemed to understand everything. He was never picked for sports, always scored the lowest on every test, and was constantly tired and frail. His parents worried for his wellbeing and sent him to several doctors, all of whom decided their son was merely a fragile boy who needed to find his place.
Entering High School, Will found himself with few friends. By this point he had realized he wasn't special at anything, and kept to himself and began writing poetry. Accordingly, everyone around him continued to flourish in their own achievements, his brothers above all. Will felt lost and alone, and after graduating without getting accepted into any Universities, took a job as a clerk in the San Fransisco Library.
Will has adopted a soft and wavering voice that he rarely uses, hidden away in the depths of the Library. His parents moved down to Santa Barbara after he graduated, and he rarely sees them anymore. He currently is living alone in a small apartment that resides in a rather shady part of town, barely being able to pay the rent.
Hero Stuff
Power: Amplification – Will is able to increase and amplify the abilities of those around him; hero and human alike. Running longer, thinking faster, and becoming stronger are only a fraction of his potential. His own body is able to directly amplify the potential of those around him by absorbing Will's own energy and multiplying that indefinately. His own power has no effect on him and is very draining on his mind and body. The exact effect it has on other Heroes has yet to be seen, but one might speculate their level of control, maximum potential of their own ability, endurance, and own physical and mental functions would be greatly enhanced. The exact range of his power is unclear and the temporary boosts seem to last for a few hours. One could speculate, however, that prolonged exposure might have a lasting effect on the individual.
Level of mastery/awareness of power: Will is completely unaware of his power. His power randomly manifests itself throughout each day for a few minutes, bolstering those around him, and greatly weakening himself.
Alliegence: Will is unaware about his own power and the existance of other heroes.
Goals/Driving purposes: Will is searching to find something he's good at. What might have been called a desperate drive when he was younger, has been worn down to a meager yearning to not be completey average.

Name: Will
Roleplaying Experience: I have played table top games much more than online message boards, but a Heroes RPG was too good to pass up! I watch the show every week and am rather sad it won't be coming back until April.
Roleplaying Sample:
Will walked slowly through the library, reveling in the gentle silence that always seemed to put his mind at ease. He was tired; no real surprise there, he was tired all the time, yet this seemed different. Will paused for a moment to look at the section he had wandered into when he stumbled, leaning against the bookcase heavily. He felt dizzy and sunk to the floor, his body shaking. As his vision blurred he tried to stand up and tried to push away the dull pain that weakened him.
~~ Flashback ~~
“How did you guys do on the test?” A girl asked her nearby friends, smiling slightly. She had gotten a near perfect score, as usual.
“I did alright,” the girl next to her said, “I think everyone got an A on it.”
“Everyone?” A skeptical voice asked behind her. Several boys had come up to the sitting girls and the one who had spoken had a face filled with disbelief. “Even him?” He gestured over to the front steps where a boy sat alone.
“Well of course not him, Johnny, I mean...has he ever gotten an A in anything?” The girl sighed, feeling slightly bad for him.
“I guess he just doesn't study like we all do, right?” Johnny laughed and so did those around him. It didn't seem like any of them needed to study for anything anymore, the tests were just too easy.
The boy turned slightly when he heard the laughing and saw them looking at him. He felt an emptiness in his stomach and cringed, his own eyes sparkling with fresh tears.

When Will woke up the library was dark and the gentle silence that had eased him before had become eerie and suffocating. He slowly got up, his whole body shaking, and made his way towards the exit. He felt tired and drained and knew it would be a long walk home. He looked back at the books strewn across the floor where he had fallen and sighed.
“What is wrong with me?” He mumbled, wondering for the thousandth time why he was so tired and couldn't seem to do anything right.
